FLN marrying FB

There is no denying that Facebook is becoming a bigger player in the internet world. In many ways it rivals google in use. There are things about Facebook I find confusing, but I can’t sit still and watch other webmaster take advantage of Facebook and do nothing. Hence, I begin a journey we shall call “FLN marrying FB.”

TERMS

Let me get a few boring terms out of the way. When you sign up for Facebook, you get what they call a Facebook Profile. Usually your Facebook Profile uses your personal name for your profile account. Once you have a Facebook Profile, you can create Facebook Pages. Pages are more inline with how websites work and have many more advantages over a regular Facebook Profile. There are also similarities that both Profile and Pages have, but beyond that, Pages give you much more versatility.

FLN = filipina lady net (www.filipina-lady.net)
ASW = asian wife (www.asian-wife.net)
FB = Facebook (www.facebook.com)

MEMBER’S FACEBOOK PAGES

I’ll gladly help create and  add another member’s Facebook Page URL to FLN, but it will depend on your membership support at FLN. If you have read my other writings, by now you should know that a lot of the “above and beyond” approach I take to help members, depends on their effort in supporting FLN or the other sites. It can be time consuming so I give my all to those members who give back their all. If you have any questions about supporting FLN, please ask me or your host. Your efforts are what keeps FLN free for all to use and enjoy.

ADVANTAGE

There is an obvious advantage to having a Facebook page approved by FLN and that is ME. Not very subtle, am I? But let me put it this way. If I update the filipinaeyes facebook page with a neat game I just bought or a great photo gallery, etc, I would gladly help out those members who support FLN by installing it on their FB page.


LEARNING TOGETHER

Man, Facebook changes faster than I change socks. That is probably one reason I have been putting off the effort to make FB a viable tool for FLN. But despite Facebook constant changes, I can’t ignore it’s influence and have to start somewhere -- so here we are.

I don’t ever see myself becoming a Facebook fanatic, but I will do my best to understand how Pages work on Facebook. As far as Facebook Profile accounts, I don’t have a real interest even though I’m sure knowing how Profile accounts work could help me take advantage of Pages but I have to balance my time with maintaining my sites as well as utilizing FB.

However, there are a tons of Facebook users who are members of our sites. Don’t hesitate to share your knowledge, ask questions, etc, in the comments below. Please make sure your comments relate to FB – don’t use it to introduce yourself. I want this page and comments to relate to FB only. If there is an inappropriate comment, I may delete it without warning.
